Firstly, welcome
A place where I, Emma, explore what it means to be diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at 42 years old.
When I say explore, I mean there is a fair bit of ranting, swearing and general what-the-fuckery?! As a woman, mother, writer and artist I share my experiences of managing a degenerative disease where no day is the same and I can’t even put my socks on.
Thankfully, there is wine.
And did I mention swearing?
And, most importantly, you - my dearest and incredibly supportive readers.
The best way to enjoy all this is become a paid subscriber as you get wondrous treats! A monthly diary - here’s taster - and a fabulous ebook…
Tumbled 🎉
The move. The reunion. The friendships, the disasters, the mess, the laughter, the wine. The wild hope that we could rebuild a life here — and the small matter of discovering, mid-chaos, that I also have Parkinson’s.
It’s sweary, ridiculous, and very, very real.
And now, finally, it’s an ebook.
Even better? I’ve added new chapters to bring the story right up to today — the bits I didn’t write at the time because, honestly, I was too busy trying to survive them.
It’s free for paid subscribers — because without you, none of this exists.1
If you are new here may I suggest the following?

I also run the Parkinson’s directory Handshake.
Who is Emma?
Writer, artist, wine drinker, and owner of a disease called Parkinson’s. Mother of two daughters, carer of a neurotic border collie (rescue), and partner to a very patient man.
