Wouldn’t be here without Who Stole My Dopamine? I read Emma Stubbs throughout the last years of my dad’s life, in the thick of being a kid of someone with Parkinson’s and feeling like a failure at it. I read her newsletters with a cat on my lap, sometimes snorting out loud and shooting him into the next room. I read her while thoroughly in grief after my dad died. And I’ll continue to read her writing and save up for one of her paintings and earmark her advice on withstanding things like chronic illness and potty training. She opened the door for me here, like for many others. She helped show me the courage to share my story and my dad’s. And she sang “Fuck you, Parkinson’s” like a songbird in spring. Thank you, Emma! 🍷 Cheers
Oh Emma, I'll miss you and your witty, upbeat take on PD. Very best of luck with your new enterprise; your artwork is very good, so l hope you do well. Love from Sarah 😘
I so loved reading your clever and hilarious posts and I will miss them and the laughter they brought me, but of course we all understand how relentless this is and I applaud you for using wisely what small part of the day PD allows you to accomplish something you love. Go forward my luvly and create!!
